STARSAILOR TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM ON THE OUTSIDE IN THE U.S. ON AUGUST 22^nd

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS EARLY SEPTEMBER

Digital EP: In The Crossfire Out On June 27^th

June 8, 2006 - New York, NY – Starsailor return on August 22^nd to the U.S. with their third and strongest album to date: On The Outside.  Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, The Vines, Elliott Smith), On The Outside finds the band reaching a creative peak with The Daily Telegraph calling it: “Their most compelling album yet,” and Mojo Magazine proclaiming that the band is “Still producing the goods.”

Called “A commanding return” by Q Magazine, the first single from On The Outside in the U.S. will be “In The Crossfire.”

"With our last album Silence is Easy," lead singer James Walsh reflects, "we'd be recording the album and reading about ourselves in the paper or seeing a picture of ourselves or playing a gig, all at the same time. Whereas with this one, it was totally focused, totally inspired.”

Taking their name from the title of a Tim Buckley LP, Starsailor have enjoyed an immense amount of success since the release of their debut album Love Is Here in 2002.  Both their debut album, and it’s follow up – Silence Is Easy (which featured two tracks produced by the legendary Phil Spector) were both platinum sellers in the UK.  The group has developed a die hard following all around the world due to their lengthy touring schedule, solid musicianship and amazing songs.

Originally released in the UK as an 11-track album, the U.S. release of On The Outside will include a 12^th bonus track titled “Empty Streets.”

Starsailor will launch their first U.S./Canadian tour in over two and a half years in Montreal in early September.  The 19 city tour will feature stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco among others.  The full tour schedule will be announced shortly.

Prior to the release of On The Outside, fans can get a taste of what’s to come with the release of the digital EP: In The Crossfire on June 27^th.  The three song EP will feature three tracks from the album: “In The Crossfire,” “Counterfeit Life,” and “Jeremiah.”

Starsailor have several major performances on tap this summer before their North American tour including a spot on the V Festival in August and sharing the stage with Roger Waters for “Hyde Park Calling” in London in July.
